How it’s worked out

$20,000 of treatments less 30% product cost is $14,000 net; 20% of that is $2,800. Skincare at 10% of $1,500 adds $150 and four packages at $25 add $100 — $3,050.

Paying licensed providers a percentage of what they bill can run into fee-splitting rules in some states. Check with a healthcare attorney before settling on a structure.

Common questions

Should med spa commission be on gross or net?

Net — revenue less product cost — keeps high-cost and low-cost treatments equally worthwhile to the business. Paying on gross gives the provider the same share of a treatment whose product cost you absorbed.

Is commission legal for med spa providers?

Many med spas pay providers this way lawfully, but fee-splitting and corporate-practice rules vary by state and licence. Take advice first; nothing here is legal advice.

How is front desk paid?

Usually a flat bonus per package or membership sold, since they sell rather than perform treatments.
