How it’s worked out
120 hours at $15 is $1,800 base. 24 memberships at $15 add $360, 10% of $2,000 in training packages adds $200, and 5% of $400 in supplements adds $20 — $2,380 for the month.
If memberships cancel early, many gyms take the commission back within 30 or 60 days; the gym guide covers how to write that rule.
Common questions
How much commission per gym membership?
A flat $10 to $20 per membership is a common starting point, often with tiers for a strong month or a share of the first few months’ dues.
Do gym staff get base pay plus commission?
Usually yes — an hourly wage plus commission, which keeps pay above minimum wage in a slow month.
What about cancellations?
Decide in advance whether commission comes back if a member cancels within a set window, and write it into the plan.
