Commission tracking built for tanning salons
CommissionBoard was built inside a working tanning salon. Memberships, lotion and upgrades are what pay the bills, so they are what the board is built around — calculated from your POS and on every employee’s phone through the day.
What goes wrong by hand
Memberships are rewarded worst
An EFT sign-up is worth a year of revenue, but a spreadsheet can only pay what someone remembers to add. A ranked membership pool fixes the incentive — if people can see where they stand.
Lotion is left on the shelf
Product is the highest-margin sale at the counter. A product-mix bonus only changes behaviour when staff can see their product share against the line before the month ends.
Part-timers can’t compete
Ranking by total sales rewards whoever worked the most shifts. Goals sized to each person’s share of clients put everyone on the same scale.
A plan the board runs
The plan the board was built on, at a real salon:
| Personal goal | Team goal × your share of unique clients |
|---|---|
| Minimum to earn | 50% of your personal goal |
| Rate | 2% at the minimum, rising to 4% at goal, and higher past it |
| Product bonus | $25 for more than 25% product sales |
| EFT pool | $5,000 × 4%, split 40/30/20/10 across the top four |
How CommissionBoard helps
Syncs with Helios automatically
Connect Helios once and the board updates every 20 minutes while you are open. Any other POS: paste the report and it calculates in seconds.
Staff see their own board
Each employee logs in on their phone to see their sales, goal, pace and pay. Coworkers see each other’s earnings and rank, never their sales.
EFT pools and product bonuses
Membership pools by rank, product-mix bonuses, thresholds and one-off bonuses — all calculated, all shown line by line.
Closes the month on final numbers
The month is closed from the full month’s report, and payroll exports as a PDF or CSV.
